Waste is a general term that can refer to the different materials it is made of or the sources it is produced from. The most common classification is per type of material - plastic, paper, glass, metal, organic etc-  or per type of source - municipal, industrial, hospital, agricultural etc.

The WastePortal offers you the opportunity to find information on waste using any of the two classifications.
